Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
