The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The song was recorded following a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers appearing on Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a representative explained. “We aim for whatever we can get. Obviously, the more the merrier. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the region was noted for its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from the 19th of December.
