During the fall season, Adult Swim debuted a new season of its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. Yet, not long after, the channel launched a brand-new animated series with a distinctly unique vibe. Haha, You Clowns emerged as heartwarming and calm, evoking a animated take of a laid-back talk show. In an era often marked by bleakness, this show's wholesomeness struck a chord and helped it become a surprise hit.
A Two-Season Greenlight
On December 18th, Adult Swim revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two more seasons. This provides showrunner Joe Cappa a massive runway to expand upon the story of the Campbell family. The show centers on three respectful teenage brothers whose primary trait is their profound affection for their widowed father, with Cappa providing the voices for all four key characters.
"My deepest thanks go to the audience of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and spread the word," stated Cappa. "I am overjoyed that I get to spend more time in the Campbell household for a little longer."
Executive Acclaim
In the same announcement laudits from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who called the series as "profoundly sincere and strangely uncanny." He thanked the fans who discovered the show and supported its peculiarly charming style.
"All of you showed up for this new show, rooted for it on social media, and expanded its audience week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "As the show says: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"
A Wholesome Alternative

In earlier interviews, creator Joe Cappa stated his hope to evolve comedy past its long-running sarcastic tone. He traced this trend to a broader media landscape.
“It feels like there's a default mode of irony that we can't get ourselves out of,” said Cappa. “It's like we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for 10 years, and we must laugh at something different now. The genre needs to change.”
Future Seasons
Given this two-season order, with Haha, You Clowns locked in for the future, Cappa may well help usher in that very evolution. If nothing else, the renewal guarantees audiences additional episodes to experience the heartfelt moments of the beloved Campbell clan.
