The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf Debut
This young athlete has substantial social media audience
Kai Trump will have plenty of well-known backers when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses several golf courses and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He basically told me to compete and have fun," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, Kai has played in a mere three competitions recently and holds ranking 461 in AJGA listings.
However she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with her mother.
"He stands as the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He advised me to go out there, relax, and go with the flow."
Kai will face several the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that Kai's presence brings golf to different demographics, particularly among younger fans.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness brand.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
